What is your favorite color or shape to use in your designs? Personally, I love the versatility of faceted rounds and I will always be drawn to blue, green and purple shades. Though, I have found a new love for beads with a Picasso or luster finish!
I've been featured in RandomCreativeArt's blog. Grab a cup of tea and have a read!
Before I was a Bead Hunter, I was a Jewelry Maker and Designer. A prominent theme in my jewelry designs is the circle. The circle holds special meaning to most cultures of the world. It is a symbol for life, unity, wholeness, completion, and eternity.
This week I will be adding a collection of circles, rings and disks that I have created for your jewelry designs. Most will be made from Sterling silver (.925), Fine silver (.999) or tarnish-resistant Argentium silver (.930). A few designs will be made from Brass or Copper. All of the circles, rings and disks will be textured and offered in a variety of sizes.
I am the Bead Hunter....and today the hunt was productive.
First a little background info....I have a special love affair with transit tokens. Odd, especially considering I grew up in a place without any public transportation. Then again, maybe this is why I am so enamored with transportation artifacts, like tokens. But I digress.
Today, I found a small trinket box at an antique mall with a dozen CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) fare tokens in it. Score! I purchased a few, and like all amazing finds, will probably sit on the edge of my workbench until it screams to me, "Make me into this!"
I also came across two vintage necklaces with really interesting beads. I am going to disassemble the necklaces, clean the beads and get them ready for my Etsy shop. I hope you like teal blue - hint ~ hint.
This was a short hunt. Really.
I quickly found exactly what I was looking for. An open backed bezel - to allow the stone to really glow - with two connector loops and an elegant bezel wire to secure the stone. Having the two loops gives a lot of design options. I also like that the bezel is available in silver and gold.
Stay tuned for completed designs using a RED cabochon and a GOLD bezel.......ho-ho-ho!
