I'm especially excited because this year I will finally be able to get my hands dirty and plant a small garden. I have my beautiful - yet tiny - seedlings started already. I hope to have everything transplanted outside in the next few weeks. Since this is my first garden, I am starting out with some basic veggies and herbs: tomatoes, bell peppers, green onions, carrots (purple, red and yellow), basil, parsley, sunflowers and purple basil. I've even started making my own organic fertilizer - ground banana peels and crushed egg shells!
In order to help this first-time (optimistic, semi-clueless, nervous)gardener, I am taking a workshop at our local Library on container gardening.
Here's to a delicious summer crop!
